Final lift off is a sound work created and performed by Jason Thompson for the exhibition The future looks brighter than ever at the Fondazione Biagiotti Progetto Arte. The work is based on a composition that was meant to be recorded by African American astronaut Ronald McNair in space when he and his saxophone were tragically killed in the lift off of the Challenger in 1986. it is a work about aspirations and the conquest of the natural world.
