Frisk Yo' Whiskers from Bradly Dever Treadaway on Vimeo.

Frisk Yo’ Whiskers is a street based performance celebrating the NYC legacy of Jazz and the improvised economics of the “Rent Party”. Part street hustle, part sound performance the work revolves around a traveling salesman’s briefcase that doubles as an amplifier and a hypnotic sonic exchange between a single octave lap steel guitar and a jazz horn. The project, partnered with Fabriga Bicycles, promotes the a cross-institutional grant, founded by the artist, placing younger generation jazz players in “cutting contests”, dueling each other in dialogue with NYC jazz homes with ethnomusicologist shout-outs, jazz legend judges and live DJ spins.
