Drawing its title from the Latin phrase ’labor trumps all’ Labor Vincit Omnia is an installation, sound work and performance. The piece revolves around labor as a gesture of triumph and mixtures of blue and white-collar applications. A Triumphant arch created from rusted scaffolding, a construction chute made of office bins, a lap steel fan, a tool desk barrel organ and Performances revolving around sound checks, classical music lessons and floral arrangement drive the shifting paces.
The piece was made in collaboration With Jason Thompson, Bradly Dever Treadaway and Calixto Ramirez and was part of the exhibition A Job Ain't Nothin' But Work curated by Andrew Smaldone.
