Negotiating Terms of Exclusion is a lecture based performance and sound work that examines the ghettoizing of black intellect and scholarly exclusion. The work engages the formal language of sound checks and the corner coaching of boxing as metaphors for the shortcomings of academic and art world inclusion. The work was realized in collaboration with Leon Jones and Yosief Teklay for the conference Spaces of Exclusion at Villa Romana.
